Maybe?

Original post: 1/21/07

I think if I knew that my music impacted one person and caused them to do something (positive) that they wouldn't have otherwise done, I wouldn't think I'd wasted my time playing music. I don't know...I've been feeling nostalgic lately, wishing Served to Raise had made it big. If only I could find my "voice" then maybe I would know what to do.

I know this might be somewhat akin to a reply I remember Mom leaving on your old blog, but 'maybe' it's good to remind you again that the time you spent playing music those few years ago was not a waste. I know I feel the same way often even though I haven't had the same opportunities and musical talent surrounding me that you did... I feel the same way now (it makes me kinda jealous!). If you've read my posts, it's like Bono mentioned when you feel you have the grasp, but lack the reach.

For one specific example, I've been impacted by your music, and I'm sure Andy has been too. And in all honesty, when I listen to Served to Raise even now, I wonder how in the world you guys didn't quite catch on and have the opportunity to really explode. I think we both have that "voice" that we are searching for.

But I hope you know that you still have so much talent and potential musically, so keep playing! You never know how God is going to use the things you are passionate about, even if they don't seem to be getting you anywhere. It's my hope that you and I, as well as Katie and Andy can always be in a position to give the gift and joy of music to others, whatever manifestation that may take.

Rock on and peace out man!
